Bacolod’s Infante commits to Adamson Lady Falcons

MANILA – Adamson University Lady Falcons is loading up for its campaign in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball with a number of recruits, led by Bacolodnon Hannah Infante.

Infante, who previously played for St. John’s Institute in Bacolod City, decided to stay with Adamson for college after suiting up for its high school squad during the UAAP Season 80 juniors volleyball.

Lady Falcons’ team manager Russell Balbacal said Infante will be a huge addition to the Airess Padda-mentored squad but she would be converted to libero from her current spiker position.

“Aside from her versatility, what we liked about Hannah is her vocal leadership. She’s usually the loudest player on the court and communicates well with her teammates,” Balbacal said.

He was able to see the ability of Infante when she played for the Negros Island Region squad during the Palarong Pambansa last year in San Jose, Antique.

Aside from Infante, Lady Falcons has also secured the commitments of Louie Romero, Rizza Cruz, Lucille Almonte, Antonette Adolfo, Stacey Lopez, Nikka Yandoc, and Krich Macaslag.

The biggest recruit of the Lady Falcons, however, was 5-foot-7 spiker Trisha Mae Genesis, also the target of other schools including Ateneo Lady Eagles and National University Lady Bulldogs.

“We really love Trisha and are very happy she chose Adamson to be her next home,” said Balbacal. “We’re definitely expecting great things from her. We’ve seen what she can do and hope she will help us make history in Adamson.”/PN
