BACOLOD City – High-quality and farm-fresh products of local farmers and community producers were made available at the two-day “Lab Merkado KNP” (Kadiwa ng Pangulo) from February 13 to 14 at the Atrium of the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC).
The Bacolod City Nutrition Committee (BCNC) spearheaded the activity in line with the celebration of the National Heart Month and Valentine’s Day.
Lora Maria Teresa Clarin, the city’s Nutrition Program coordinator, among the local produce sold were vegetables, eggs, fruits, and homemade delicacies, among others.
On Feb. 14, the KNP even offered vegetable bouquets as substitute for chocolates or flowers.
“We are promoting a healthier lifestyle,” Clarin added.
The KNP program, initiated by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., connects farmers, fisherfolk, and small enterprises directly to consumers, offering affordable, high-quality products.
This initiative enhances market access for producers and ensures food security for Filipinos./PN
