AN arnis team from Bago City, Negros Occidental took home 10 medals – two gold, three silver and five bronze – after the 2018 Philippine National Games in Cebu City.
Leizl Matulac captured gold in individual unidentical weapon while Joram Paul Pangcobila got the other gold after ruling in the featherweight full contact.
John Michael Escleto won silver in the extra lightweight class while Jhunnie Rhey Pangcobila took silver in the lightweight division, both in full contact events.
Getting bronze were Christian Reyes in the middleweight category, Carl Michael Romero in the bantamweight class and Aireen Joy de la Cruz in the junior bantamweight division.
Junary Garcia took silver in the individual single weapon category, de la Cruz won bronze for individual single weapon in the junior division, and Ellah Alvarado was awarded bronze for traditional anyo events in other competitions.
Bacolod City finished 13th place overall with 10 gold, 10 silver and two bronze medals while Negros Occidental placed 21st with seven gold, four silver and five bronze medals.
Cebu City, which hosted the competition, claimed the overall championship with 41 gold, 54 silver and 67 bronze medals./PN
