BACOLOD City – Around 22,031 public school learners from kindergarten to Grade 6 in Bago City, Negros Occidental have availed themselves of free bags and other school supplies from the city government.
The ceremonial turnover was held in Bagroy Elementary School in Barangay Bagroy on August 22.
The activity was part of the city government’s advocacy and infomation caravan dubbed “Kamustahan sa Eskwelahan 2024.”
Now on its third year, the Bago City Government under Mayor Nicholas Yulo and Vice Mayor Torres has procured P7 million worth of school supplies including bags, notebooks, pad papers, ballpens, pencils, sharpeners, and pencil cases.
In his message, Vice Mayor Torres underscored the importance of education, thus he urged public school learners to do well in their studies.
He also urged the parents and teachers to continue upholding good values among the learners, assuring them of the city government’s continued support to the education sector.
Aside from school supplies, Astro Farms Elementary School, Alianza Elementary School, Caridad Elementary School, Sagasa Elementary School, Bagroy Elementary School, and R.M. Salas Elementary School received paints and speakers from Provincial Board member Andrew Martin Torres./PN
