Bago City runner Pamatian adds 2 golds for UST in UAAP

MANILA – Louielyn Pamatian added raked in three more medals for the University of Santo Tomas’ track and field team on Day 3 of the UAAP Season 81 athletics at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The Bago City, Negros Occidental native captured her second gold Friday in women’s 400m dash with 57.37 seconds, beating Marisol Amarga of University of the Philippines and Samantha Pedral of Far Eastern University.

Pamatian, who won gold in the 800m dash on opening day, also netted gold in women’s 4x100m relay with Aklanon Alyssa Andrade, Rosnani Pamaybay and Karen Janario.

But the reigning MVP settled for a silver medal in women’s 200m with 25.45 seconds behind schoolmate Janario, who captured her third gold in the competition with 25.04 seconds.

Pamatian is targeting her fourth gold in UAAP 81 athletics in 1,500m Sunday – her final event as a collegiate player.

Meanwhile Kaylene Mosqueda of FEU – a native of Batad, Iloilo – finished with a silver medal in women’s high jump before taking a bronze medal in triple jump.

Aklan native Shiela Talja of Ateneo de Manila University had silver in triple jump.

In the men’s events, San Dionisio, Iloilo native Joyme Sequita of Adamson University captured gold in 100m run, beating Jomar Udtohan of UP./PN
