BACOLOD City – A laborer was shot to death in Purok Kaaghu-an, Barangay Ma-ao, Bago City, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
The 52-year-old Ramon Prado of the village’s Purok Kalubihan died of gunshot wounds on the head and left leg, the report added.
The shooting happened around 8:10 a.m. on Wednesday.
Police said two still unidentified suspects were responsible for Prado’s death.
According to investigation, Prado was taking his child to school on board a tricycle when the gunmen waylaid them.
A witness who came from a meeting at the school that day told the cops that the suspects fired at Prado several times.
The assailants then fled to a nearby sugarcane plantation, the witness added.
Officers from the Bago City police station were looking into old grudge as motive in the shooting./PN
