BACOLOD City – A man was not as lucky as the other when they got electrocuted in Barangay Alianza, Bago City, Negros Occidental.

The 57-year-old resident Roberto Flores died while the 40-year-old Richard Cordon was still under treatment, a police report showed.

Flores and Cordon were repairing an artesian well around 9 a.m. on Saturday when the incident happened.

The 20-foot steel pipe they were pulling up hit an electric power line, causing them to get electrocuted.

Officers from the Bago City police station were alerted around 9:29 a.m. on the same day. They rushed Flores and Cordon to the Bago City Hospital.

But attending physician Dr. Lewin Torres pronounced Flores “dead on arrival.”

Cordon, on the other hand, was transferred at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City for further treatment. (With Mae Singuay/PN)
