BACOLOD City – She was found dead floating in a river in Barangay Ma-ao, Bago City, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
The 62-year-old resident Susanita Salsalida slipped on a stone, fell in the river and drowned, according to police investigators.
It was the 21-year-old resident Juiry Dago-on who first saw Salsalida’s body in the river around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, police said.
At around 6 a.m. that day, resident Maritis Seneres saw Salsalida collecting coconut near the river, which is about four kilometers from the latter’s house.
Rescuers fished Salsalida out of the river and brought her to the Bago City District Hospital where attending physician Dr. Marco Biñosa pronounced her “dead on arrival.”/PN
