Balutan: P765-M Ultra Lotto jackpot is new record high

MANILA – The lottery jackpot for Ultra Lotto 6/58 has jumped to an estimated P765 million, making it the highest jackpot prize in the Lotto history, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager Alexander Balutan said on Wednesday.

“It was in February 2018 when Ultra Lotto jackpot prize worth P331,971,464 million was won by two lucky persons. It’s been seven months of waiting. So you can feel the excitement of the people,” he said.

The P765-million jackpot prize will be up for grabs during the Lotto 6/58 draw this Friday at 8 p.m.

The jackpot has surpassed the P741.1 million Grand Lotto 6/55 in November 2010 won by a “balikbayan” in Olongapo City, Zambales.

While waiting for the 6/58 draw this Friday, Balutan encouraged the gaming public to try buying tickets on other Lottery games such as Super Lotto 6/49 with P60 million jackpot prize and Lotto 6/42 with P35 million jackpot prize.

“Remember to keep your tickets and keep it in a safe place. You might not win the entire six digits, but you have a prize if you got the four winning combinations correctly,” reminded Balutan.

Balutan said that he has been constantly receiving private messages from “Mandirigma Kawanggawa” Facebook page and “Mandirigma sa Kawanggawa” Community Page, asking him for “lucky” numbers.”

“Like I said, we don’t give out ‘winning’ numbers. There’s no such thing. Our games are automated, which means the machine picks the winning combination. We must remember, lottery is a game of chance or ‘luck’. Plus, you cannot win the lottery if you don’t even buy a ticket, and buy more tickets if you must,” Balutan said.

As of this writing, Grand Lotto 6/55 with P53 million and Mega Lotto 6/45 with P26 million jackpot prizes will be drawn on September 26 at 8:00 p.m.

When choosing lucky numbers, Balutan shared that some gamers use different strategies or techniques like choosing their birthdays or anniversaries, or numbers from their dreams or imaginations.

Some gamers let the machine pick numbers for them – the lucky pick, and by a stroke of luck, get the winning combinations.

“We would like to assure you that everyone has a fair chance of winning. The agency has strict implementation when it comes to draw procedures, making sure the money that you bought for tickets are really there. But even if you don’t win, at least you know that part of your money goes to charity and sick patients. Bumili ka na ng ticket, nakatulong ka pa. Sa ibinili mo nakapag-kawanggawa ka pa,” Balutan said.

If by chance you really won the P765-jackpot prize, Balutan reminded the public to make sure you immediately sign the winning lottery ticket and take extra precautions.

“Whoever holds the ticket is the winner. Take a photo and video of yourself with the winning ticket. But keep it to yourself first, you don’t want strangers or people knocking at your door unannounced asking for ‘balato’ or do you harm. Be mindful of your security and your family as well,” emphasized Balutan.

“Don’t lose yourself. Winning a huge amount of jackpot prize will definitely change your lives, especially your lifestyle and outlook. Many lottery winners are one-day millionaires. After winning the jackpot prizes, their lives are turned upside down. Money is best when you use it to improve your life, your family, and your community,” added Balutan./PN
