ILOILO – The local government unit (LGU) of Banate allocated P2 million for the procurement of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines.
Mayor Carlos Cabangal Jr. said his LGU plans to vaccinate 70 percent (around 30, 000) of Banate’s population.
As to the vaccine brand, Cabangal said it would depend on what’s available in the market.
The LGU will continue to follow the priority list set by the Department of Health (DOH), he added.
Cabangal had his first dose of the China-made CoronaVac vaccine in April.
He enjoined all barangay officials and Barangay Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs) to explain to their constituents the importance of getting vaccinated.
