ILOILO City – A bank security guard was arrested yesterday for alleged indiscriminate firing in Barangay Benedicto, Jaro district.
The 24-year-old Daniel Cancernan of Barangay Pandac, Pavia, Iloilo was detained at the lockup cell of the Jaro police station.
According to Chief Inspector Herbert Ballego, Jaro police chief, the illegal discharge of firearm happened around 12:22 a.m. Cancernan was detailed at the RCBC Bank in Barangay Benedicto.
Residents alerted the police about the firing. Responding police officers confiscated Cancernan’s .9mm pistol.
Cops also found an empty bullet shell.
Cancernan, however, denied firing his gun./PN
