ILOILO City – He was responding to a commotion at the barangay plaza when he got stabbed and shot.
Barangay kagawad Edgardo Montañez of Bongbongan, Hamtic, Antique died of stab and gunshot wounds, a police report showed.
Police identified the suspects as 60-year-old Nonito Sernicula, son Morito, 21, and son-in-law Filomeno Seploc, 28.
The incident happened around 1 a.m. on Sunday, the report stated.
Nonito, who was also injured, was receiving treatment at a hospital in Antique.
Morito and Filomeno, on the other hand, were detained in the Hamtic police station lockup facility./PN
