CAPIZ – A Barn-owl was rescued in Poblacion Tabuc, Maayon, Capiz.
Resident Sharon Delatina first saw the owl being chased by a cat on March 13.
It was turned over to Capiz Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (CaPENRO) on March 15 by Analyn Delfin, who took care of it.
According to them, the owl probably has a nest in a tall and large tree in their backyard. No traces of injuries were seen on the owl.
The Barn-owl which is currently under the care of the Office of the Provincial Veterinary (OPV) will be observed and will be eventually turned over to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Capiz, that in return, will release to the wild.
CaPENRO advised the Capisnons to contact their office they happen to rescue animals like the Barn-owl.
“Agud nga ma aksyunan kag maprotektahan ang aton ginapabugal nga Flora and Fauna sa probinsya sang Capiz kag ginapahanumdom man sa tanan nga ginadumilian ang pagdakop sang mga sapat tungod sa wala lang nga rasun,” CaPENRO added./PN
