The Barotac Nuevo Police Station was placed on lockdown after four Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) tested positive for COVID-19. The lockdown began yesterday and the four PDLs were transferred to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Dumangas on April 14. They were found asymptomatic and placed in facility quarantine.
Mayor Bryant Paul Biron issued a public advisory stating: “Our Municipal Police Station is closed starting today, April 20, 2021 until further notice in view of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) initially detained in the station that tested positive for COVID-19. All our Police Officers and remaining PDLs will be subjected to RT-PCR tests and quarantine. Police personnel from Iloilo Provincial Police Office will assist our town for the meantime while our Municipal Police Station is closed.”/PN
