ILOILO City – Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) director, Police Colonel Leo Batiles, was relieved from his post effective yesterday.

He was replaced by Police Colonel Joeresty Coronica from the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) Regional Personnel and Records Management Division.

Because he is scheduled to retire this March, Batiles will be placed on a non-duty status.

Coronica, meanwhile, will be replaced at the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division by Police Colonel Wilson De Belen, former provincial director of the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO).

“Kailangan na natin i-relieve si city director kasi mag-retire na siya. Need niya to process ng kanyang papeles. We are thankful sa serbisyo ni Colonel Batiles sa Iloilo City,” said Police Brigadier General Leo M. Francisco, regional police director.

For his part, Coronica said he welcomes his new assignment. He will focus on the campaign against illegal drugs.

“We will try our best nga ma-maintain gid naton ang katawhayan sang Iloilo City. Maging bukas ako sa media interview kay media is our partner kag channel para mabal-an sang tawo ang aton ginahimu,” added Coronica.

The turnover of command will be held at the PRO-6’s Maringal Hall today./PN
