‘Bayanihan Bakunahan 3’ in Iloilo province starts

ILOILO – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) is all set for Bayanihan Bakunahan 3 from Feb. 9 to Feb. 11.

According to PHO head Dr. Maria Socorro Colmenares-Quiñon, the target are 104,973 individuals  12 years old and over.

“Kon may kilala kamo nga wala pa nakapabakuna, palihog i-convince naton sila na magbakakuna para maproteksyonan sila,” said Quiñon.

To be prioritized are 12-year-olds and older, including pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.

The 10 municipalities with the highest targets are Oton (4,971); City of Passi (4,728); Pototan (4,243); Miag-ao (4,223); Cabatuan (3,810); Lambunao (3,758); Tigbauan (3,606); Dumangas (3,599); Santa Barbara (3,363); and Calinog (3,348).

The other towns have the following targets: Ajuy (2,631), Alimodian (2,067), Anilao (1,580), Badiangan (1,495), Balasan (1,593), Banate (1,657), Barotac Nuevo (2,867), Barotac Viejo (2,527), Batad (1,036), Bingawan (924), Carles (3,140), Concepcion (2,274), Dingle (2,623), Dueñas (1,939), Estancia (2,420), Guimbal (1,935), Igbaras (1,754), Janiuay (3,336),  San Dionisio (1,887), San Enrique (1,617), San Joaquin (3,089), San Miguel (1,413), San Rafael (795), Sara (2,767), Tigbauan (1,492), Zarraga (1,033), Leganes (1,686), Lemery (1,278), Leon (2,884), Maasin (2,072), Mina (1,257), New Lucena (1,419), and Pavia (2,837).

Bayanihan Bakunahan 3 hopes to vaccinate five million people.

Meanwhile, the PHO also aims to administer vaccines to 267,470 children aged five to 11 years old beginning Feb. 14.

It also focuses on making vaccination available for senior citizens.

On Jan. 31, the PHO conducted a drive-thru vaccination for the elderly at Robinsons Place Pavia parking lot.

The one-day program aims to help senior citizens avoid long queues and protect them from contracting the virus.

As of Feb. 2, 1,017,221 people or 70 percent of the target population of 1,448,757 became fully vaccinated./PN
