‘Bayanihan sa Campo’ helps over 1K families

ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6’s (PRO-6) “Bayanihan sa Campo Delgado kada Sabado” has so far helped 1,010 families displaced economically by the ongoing community quarantine due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

It is a food distribution program led by Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, regional police director. The target beneficiaries are the “poorest of the poor” families, some of whom live in barangays surrounding the PRO-6.

The beneficiaries are screened by the PRO-6’s Regional Community Affairs Division in coordination with barangay officials. They are given farm products, fruits, pork, live chicken, eggs, molo balls, and vegetables, among others, every Saturday in Camp Delgdo, the headquarters of the PRO-6.

According to Pamuspusan, “Bayanihan sa Campo Delgado kada Sabado” also helps economically small farmers and livestock raisers because the PRO-6 directly purchases from them the items being given to the program’s beneficiaries.

“I thank all the PRO-6 personnel for their commitment to help our countrymen beyond our mandated task. We are not only healing as one. We are becoming stronger. Together, we survive as one,” said Pamuspusan./PN
