BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) arrested 555 wanted persons in 553 operations conducted from January to October of this year.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Lester Leada, deputy director for operations of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said 10 of the most wanted persons (MWP) were apprehended at the city level and 141 similar operations at the police station level.
Combined police operations hauled 404 other wanted persons (OWP).
On BCPOs campaign against loose firearms, Leada said 23 persons were arrested from January to October.
He said 127 operations were conducted where the office accounted for several firearms.
Of the 20 confiscated firearms, six were service firearms while 14 were homemade guns.
Some 78 firearms were surrendered to the police. Of the number, three were service firearms, 64 homemade, and 11 were explosives.
Deposited firearms reached 34, while two other homemade firearms were recovered.
Leada noted that from January to November 2022, local events were peacefully held in the city with no bank robberies, no kidnap for ransom and no media killings recorded. (PIA6 Negros Occidental)/PN
