BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has cautioned city residents anew to be vigilant against thieves during Holy Week.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ronnie Brillo, BCPO spokesperson, said homeowners should make sure that their houses are secured prior to attending church services or if traveling elsewhere.
Brillo said the BCPO patrol vehicles will roam the city’s residential areas regularly together with barangay tanods, although it would be better for the residents themselves to properly secure their homes against thieves.
The BCPO has already completed its deployment plans for the Holy Week observance and personnel will be assigned to monitor the churches, transport terminals and resorts, among other areas of convergence.
Brillo added the city police force is already on a “full alert” status for the Holy Week which is set to begin on Palm Sunday, March 24.
All BCPO personnel are also required to report to their respective posts, and absences will not be allowed during the Holy Week period. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
