BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) commended two policemen wounded in action – a shootout with a fugitive.
Colonel Manuel Placido, BCPO director, lauded the “heroics acts” of Lieutenant Roque Gimeno III and Patrolman Jhon Ray Ortega – both assigned at the Mobile Force Company.
In Barangay Singcang-Airport, murder suspect Limuel Talaman armed with an improvised gun fired at the cops there attempting to serve a warrant of arrest Thursday night last week.
The suspect was eventually subdued by other members of the arresting team. He was endorsed to Police Station 8.
Ortega was hospitalized for a gunshot wound on the left arm. Gimeno, on the other hand, got hit on the right leg but was eventually treated as an outpatient.
Placido commended the other team members for the “successful operation” that led to Talaman’s arrest and confiscation of a loose firearm.
The wounded cops received financial assistance from the BCPO and Police Regional Office 6.
Lieutenant Ma. Liberty Indiape, BCPO public information officer, said Talaman faces charges for resisting arrest and illegal possession of firearms./PN
