BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) awarded its December 2018 top-performing units and personnel.
Police Station 8 led by Chief Inspector Charles Gever was awarded for making relevant contributions to BCPO’s campaign against illegal drugs.
Police Station 2 led by Senior Inspector Leo Estopa and Police Station 10 led by Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas were also recognized for being top performers in the campaign against loose firearms.
Moreover, the Senior Inspector Rey Tolosa Jr.-led Police Station 4 bested nine other police stations in Bacolod in arresting the most number of persons and confiscating the biggest volume of illegal drugs.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, the Mobile Patrol Group now led by Superintendent Adonis Rosales was declared top performer.
Awards of Commendation were also given to Chief Inspector Jovil Sedel and Police Officer 3 Pablito Medina Jr. for their “noteworthy accomplishments in serving warrants of arrest.”
Senior Police Officer 1 Richly Caña and Police Officer 1 Ann Rose Bartolome, meanwhile, were conferred with the Medalya ng Mabuting Asal.
BCPO spokesman Chief Inspector Ariel Pico said the Jan. 7 awarding ceremony was their way of appreciating police units and personnel who contributed to the past “successful and peaceful” year.
City police director Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, for his part, said the BCPO will “continue to perform its job in the years ahead” and will “always be morally upright.”
The awarding ceremony coincided with the Philippine National Police’s 25th Ethics Day, with the theme “Tapat na Paglilingkod, Susi sa Pinaigting na Kampanya Laban sa Korapsyon.”
The annual event aims to promote moral values formation activities for the police force.
In Bacolod, the celebration commenced with a flag-raising ceremony at the BCPO Parade Ground.
It was followed by a seminar on Republic Act 3019, or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
To cap the event, a thanksgiving mass was conducted. It was led by Father Cris Gonzales of the San Sebastian Cathedral./PN
