BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized an estimated P2.27 million worth of suspected shabu and 57 drug suspects in April.

Of its 50 antidrug operations, 334.5279 grams of suspected shabu were recovered, and seven high-value, five newly identified, and 45 street-level drug suspects were collared.

A total of 61 cases for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, have been filed in court.

On April 28, the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the BCPO arrested two drug suspects and recovered 70 grams of suspected shabu valued at P476,000 in Purok Cheriza, Barangay 27.

A day earlier, personnel of Police Station 8 apprehended Jade Babaran, 48, and his son Janelle Clyde, 27, together with the latter’s minor girlfriend, in Purok Greenfield, Barangay Tangub. Some 55 grams of suspected shabu, worth P374,000, were recovered.

On April 20, John Millan Lucasan, 59, a high-value drug suspect tagged as a priority target, yielded about 115 grams of suspected shabu valued at P782,000 in Purok Oraro, Barangay 4.

Police Colonel Noel Aliño, acting city director of the BCPO, commended the operating units for their accomplishments.

“Relentless operations against all forms of illegal activity will continue. We encourage the public to do their share in the peacekeeping campaign of the government,” he added. (PNA)/PN
