BCPO reminds cops to protect their health, too

BACOLOD City – Thousands of policemen who are currently on the frontline to implement enhanced community quarantine (ECQ in this city have been reminded to take good care of their health.

Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of the Bacolod City Police Office, said the police, who are manning quarantine control points, are also at risk of the virus while performing their functions in ensuring peace and order.

To ensure the health of these policemen, Pico said the Philippine National Police’s Health Service conducted a medical checkup to several BCPO personnel.

 “Even how tired these police personnel, they still continue to do and perform their work in order to make sure that everybody is safe,” Pico added.

The spokesperson also said that their medical result showed that they are all healthy while they are performing their duty, even though there were few experienced of hypertension.

Aside from undergoing medical checkup, these police officers were also given free medicines and vitamins.

Meanwhile, the BCPO has apprehended a total of 1,317 violators for curfew from March 15 to March 31.

There were 30 individuals, who will be facing charges for violation of the Revised Penal Code, for the crime of disobedience to person in authority./PN
