BCPO seizes over P7M ‘shabu’ in August

BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) confiscated a total of P7,111,950 worth of suspected shabu in 40 operations in August alone.

BCPO spokesperson, Police Lieutenant Colonel Sherlock Gabana, said about 1,045.875 grams of the prohibited substance were recovered.

He added that in the same month, city police personnel arrested 46 drug personalities, of which 33 were alleged drug pushers and 13 suspected drug users. There were 75 cases filed.

Moreover, in BCPO’s campaign against wanted persons, 61 operations were conducted last month which resulted in the arrest of 14 most wanted persons and 48 other wanted persons charged with various offenses.

In the campaign against loose firearms, BCPO nabbed two violators and confiscated two homemade firearms.

Under the Oplan Katok program, police collected 10 loose firearms last month – four of which were homemade and were surrendered, and six were deposited to the BCPO.

In the campaign against illegal gambling, 66 persons were arrested and P32,329 bet money were recovered.

BCPO director, Police Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir, lauded the operating units for doing an excellent job against all forms of criminality.

He added that the BCPO continues to heighten its police operations giving emphasis on crime prevention and swift resolution of cases involving the use of loose firearms./PN
