BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is setting up 35 inner and border checkpoints starting today until Sept. 15 following the metro’s slide to general community quarantine.
Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, BCPO spokesperson, said 27 checkpoints will be placed in key areas here and eight along this city’s borders to enforce Mayor Evelio Leonardia’s Executive Order (EO) 58.
Under Leonardia’s directive, the home quarantine pass system and checkpoints shall be implemented to limit the movement of people within this city and the entry/exit of non-residents.
Travelers are required to present minimum documentary requirements at the border checkpoints upon entry and exit.
When entering this city, government officials and employees as well as private sector employees should present company/employment identification (ID) while students should present school ID.
Private business owners, on the other hand, are required to present a copy of their 2020 business permit issued in this city and a personal or company ID while those entering this city for humanitarian purposes should show a membership ID.
For medical cases, the patient is required to have a medical certificate for scheduled consultation, treatment or therapy while the companion should also show an ID and the driver, a valid driver’s license. In emergencies, travelers are also required to present a valid personal ID.
When exiting, all travelers should present any valid ID showing their address is not in this city.
Transiting travelers are required to show pertinent documents showing the purpose of transit to this city.
Meanwhile, private and government movers of essential goods or any type of cargo in bulk as well as movers of construction materials in bulk for private or public construction projects should have e employment IDs, valid driver’s licenses, and must also present negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test results if they are from outside Negros Occidental.
On the other hand, all entrants to this city who are not included in the exemptions stated will be subject to 14-day quarantine and swab protocols at their expense. (With PNA/PN)
