MANILA – I Am Hope, the relief organization led by Bea Alonzo, has reached a new milestone in its donations, the actress announced through a live video on Wednesday.

As of May 27, the group has raised over P9 million in cash and in-kind donations, Alonzo informed her followers as she introduced the team behind I Am Org and gave a tour of its headquarters.

I Am Hope, which Alonzo co-founded with Rina Navarro, was initially a food drive for vulnerable communities amid the coronavirus crisis.

It has since evolved as a donation platform with the goal of augmenting immediate and long-term needs of frontline workers, on top of giving meals to sectors most affected by the pandemic.

I Am Hope has so far reached 44 hospitals and 36 communities, according to Alonzo.

Recently, the group also collaborated with the Office of the Vice President to provide hygiene and relief packs to residents affected by Typhoon Ambo.

Among I Am Hope’s most active supporters is Alonzo’s co-actor Vhong Navarro, who also appeared in the live video on Wednesday.

They urged their followers to continue donating, and shared details of the group’s upcoming efforts. (ABS-CBN News)
