FARMERS in Vintar, Ilocos Norte expressed dismay as market prices of bell pepper dropped to as low as P10 per kilo.

This has led to losses experienced by farmers, with one of them saying he lost P20,000 already, according to a report on “Unang Balita” on Monday, Jan. 22.

Demand for bell pepper went down after the holiday season, and there were reports of alleged oversupply in the market.

Affected farmers either gave away their produce or let the bell peppers rot instead after these could not be sold.

The farmers are appealing to the government to help them cope with their losses. (GMA Integrated News)
