CAPIZ – Improving health services and infrastructure are among the priorities of new Capiz Governor Fredenil “Oto” Castro.

Before he took his oath of office on June 30, Castro, accompanied by re-elected Vice Gov. James Magbanua and members of the Sannguniang Panlalawigan, visited the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital (RMPH).

He wanted to know what needed to be improved in the hospital.

The new governor is also eyeing more infrastructure projects, citing dilapidated roads, among others.

Castro previously conducted an ocular inspection in President Roxas town and conferred with barangay officials.

With engineers from the Provincial Engineer’s Office, he also inspected several road projects in the province.

Castro also vowed to sustain the provincial government’s financial assistance to Capiznons in crisis situations such as those needing hospitalization and medical aid, burial assistance and educational scholarship.

Before his election as governor, Castro served as congressman of Capiz’s 2nd District for three consecutive terms from 2013 to 2022, and previously from 2001 to 2010.

Capiz’s 2nd District is composed of the towns of Cuartero, Dao, Dumalag, Dumarao, Ivisan, Jamindan, Mambusao, Sapian, Sigma, and Tapaz./PN
