ILOILO City – The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Region 6 needs additional 135 firefighters to enhance its capability to save lives and property.
According to Fire Inspector Jasmin Mesanas, BFP-6 acting chief of Human Resource, the filing of applications started on April 19. The deadline is May 3.
“This is open to all that are qualified,” Mesanas said.
What are the qualifications?
* male or female Filipino citizens not less than 21 or more than 30 years of age
* at least 1.62 meters (5’4”) tall for male and 1.57 meters (5’2’’) for female
* must weigh not more or less than five kilograms from the standard weight corresponding to an applicant’s height, age and sex
* must possess a baccalaureate degree from a recognized institute of learning
* must have Civil Service Commission (CSC) second level eligibility, Republic Act 1080 or Presidential Decree 907 eligibility
* good moral character
* must have passed the neuro-psychiatric evaluation, medical examination and drug test
* must not have been dishonorably discharged or dismissed for cause from previous employment
* must not have been convicted by final judgment of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude
Mesanas said BFP-6 also need graduates of technology courses and drivers.
In another development, Mesanas said 12 recruits are set to take oath on April 30 for the attrition quota.
The attrition quota will fill in the posts of BFP-6 personnel who retired, died or got promoted./PN
