BFP-6 needs new firemen

ILOILO City – The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Region 6 is looking for qualified individuals to join their ranks as junior officers.

Fire Senior Inspector Stephen Jardeleza, BFP-6 spokesperson, said the application folders for Fire Officer 1 rank will start on Nov. 6 until Nov. 20 to fill up slots under attrition recruitment for calendar year 2020.

“We are in need of around 47 or additional fire officers depending on the vacant posts. They are expected to fill in the posts left by some personnel who died or retired from the service,” Jardeleza said.

To qualify, the applicant must have a Baccalaureate Degree; must possess a Civil Service Professional or Fire Officer Eligibility; and must be at least one meter and sixty-two centimeters (1.62M) in height for males and one meter and fifty-seven centimeters (1.57M) for females. Also, weight must not be more than or less than five kilograms from the standard weight corresponding to his/her height, age and sex.

They must not have been dishonorably discharged or dismissed for cause from previous employment and must not have been convicted by final judgment of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude.

Applicants must also not be less than 21 years old nor more than 30 years old on the date of actual assumption of duty of office. Also, weight must not be more than or less than five kilograms from the standard weight corresponding their height, age and sex.

The FO1 will be receiving a basic salary of P29,668 per month.

He said applicants from the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo and Negros Occidental may personally submit their application folders to their provincial fire marshals./PN
