
SAN JOSE, Antique – The Bureau of Fire (BFP) in this province is looking for qualified individuals to join their ranks as junior officers.
BFP-Antique Fire Marshall Randy Pudadera said the agency’s regional office is in the process of hiring 189 Fire Officer 1 (FO1s) to be assigned in various provinces in Western Visayas.
According to Pudadera, the application for the job is only until July 12, 2020.
“Our municipal fire stations in the 18 municipalities in this province started receiving the applications for FO1 last June 15,” Pudadera said on June 24.
He added interested applicants are advised to seek endorsement from the respective fire marshals of their municipalities before submitting their applications to the BFP provincial office. Then, the BFP Antique will forward the applications to the regional office in Iloilo City.
Pudadera, however, stressed that he has no idea yet if how many of the 189 would-be recruits will be assigned in this province.
Meanwhile, BFP-Antique information officer Vilmarie Pagunsan said the application letter to be addressed to Fire Senior Superintendent. JerryCandido, caretaker of the agency’s regional office, must be accompanied with a handwritten Personal Data Sheet, Transcript of Records and a college diploma.
To qualify, the applicant must have a Baccalaureate Degree; must possess a Civil Service Professional or Fire Officer Eligibility; and must be at least one meter and sixty-two centimeters (1.62M) in height for males and one meter and fifty-seven centimeters (1.57M) for females. Also, weight must not be more than or less than five kilograms from the standard weight corresponding to his/her height, age and sex.
Applicants must not be less than 21 years old nor more than 30 years old on the date of actual assumption of duty or oath of office.
In 2019, the BFP in this region hired 249 FO1s, with 26 of them assigned in Antique.(With a report from PNA/PN)
