ILOILO City – One of the biggest fastfood chains in the country, McDonald’s is the first commercial establishment to operate at Megaworld’s premier development in Iloilo City, the Iloilo Business Park.

It opened its standalone store in the township yesterday.

Touted as the biggest McDonald’s store in Iloilo City, the fastfood chain opened with various promos and freebies, including a performance of Dinagyang Festival champion, Tribu Panayanon.

The newly-opened McDonald’s branch is strategically located at the entrance of the Iloilo Business Park. It stands on a lot area measuring 1,500 square meters and a floor area of 691 square meters.

According to Eugene Reducindo, managing director of Choice Gourmet Banquet, Inc., franchisee of McDonald’s at the Iloilo Business Park, this branch boasts of two floors and a total seating capacity of 250.

It is also the first McDonald’s branch in Iloilo City with complete facilities. It has a play place and party area on the upper floor, and a wide space for customers on the ground floor.

There is also a drive thru and an extensive parking space.

“We are very excited to be the first fastfood chain to open at the Iloilo Business Park, and we are very happy to serve the Ilonggos who are working and visiting, including those who will be living in this world-class township,” Reducindo said.

The opening of McDonald’s at the Iloilo Business Park signals the start of fun and excitement in the township, especially that its first Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company has already started operating, said Jericho Go, Megaworld senior vice president.

Startek, Inc., a US-based BPO company, is now operating at the Richmonde office tower and is poised to launch its standalone BPO office building at Two Global Center by the fourth quarter of this year, Go added.

McDonald’s at the Iloilo Business Park is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. However, the management said they will be operating 24 hours eventually./PN
