MANILA – Biñan Tatak Gel 1-Pacman Partylist Volley Angels vented its ire at Valenzuela Classy, 25-17, 26-24, 25-17, in the 2024 MPVA season at the Paco Arena in Manila.

May Ann Nuique tallied 13 points, built on 12 attacks and a service ace, as the Volley Angels returned to their winning ways on Thursday to improve to a 3-2 win-loss slate for second place in the standings.

“Ang mentality namin sa larong ito is to make bawi talaga kasi galing kami sa talo and sobrang heartbreaking nun, kaya gusto talaga naming bumawi na hindi kami nanggigigil like kalmado lang kami,” Nuique said.

“Nandun naman ‘yung mga coaches namin to guide us and kita naman sa laro namin na nagawa namin ‘yung gusto naming mangyari in this game,” added the former Adamson University Lady Falcons star.

Nuique further said that the Volley Angels’ current success can be credited to their much-improved team chemistry despite having limited practice time together due to their various commitments.

“For me, opo, mas nabubuo na ‘yung chemistry namin as a team kahit na konti lang ‘yung practices namin, nakikita naman natin na kahit sinong ipasok ni coach or kung sino ang mag-start is nakakapag-contribute,” Nuique said.

The Classy, on the other hand, suffered their fourth defeat in as many matches in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Quezon Tangerines remained on top of the standings with a perfect 4-0 win-loss record following a 25-6, 25-23, 25-21 domination over Marikina Lady Shoemasters (0-3).

Mary Grace Borromeo was hailed MVP of the match after leading the Tangerines with 11 points, all coming from the attack department./PN
