BACOLOD City – “If you can make it in Bacolod City College (BCC), you can make it anywhere in the world.”
This was Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia’s message to a total of 907 graduates during BCC’s 18th Commencement Exercises at the SMX Convention Center in the city on Wednesday.
“You have a college education that is of top quality. I would like to inculcate in your hearts and minds that Bacolod City College is an institution that you can be proud of,” Leonardia said. “We are sure you can face the world and I’m sure you can go a long, long way.”
Rep. Greg Gasataya, Councilor Renecito Novero, Councilor Em Ang, and BCC Alumni Association president Israel Salanga were also present in the ceremony.
Gasataya led the awarding of graduates who are grantees of the Commission on Higher Education’s scholarship program.
They received a Kampeon sa Edukasyon Academic Excellence Award.
This year’s batch of graduates is the second biggest batch since BCC’s foundation in 1997, according to College Administrator Dr. Ma. Johanna Ann Bayoneta. The biggest batch was last year’s with 976 graduates.
This year’s batch is composed of 68 Bachelor of Elementary Education graduates, 55 Bachelor of Secondary Education graduates, 58 Bachelor of Science (BS) in Industrial Technology graduates, 44 BS in Business Administration major in Marketing Management graduates, 156 BS in Entrepreneurship graduates, 222 BS in Office Administration graduates, 156 BS in Information Systems graduates, and 148 Associate in Computer Technology graduates.
