BINGAWAN extended its dominance in the Iloilo 3rd Congressional District Sports Association Meet 2018 volleyball by capturing its fourth consecutive titles in girls and boys events on Friday in Janiuay, Iloilo.
Secondary girl Bingawan spikers, mentored by Vice Mayor Matt Palabrica, captured the championship after defeating Pototan in three sets.
Members of the team were Ag Magbanua, Freya Magbanua, Justine Castrillanes, Janel Caras, Jaira Tayo, Rochelle Belloga, Claiza Paren, Ki An Ceballos, Dhen Tamesin, and She Abogadil.
âThe girls were very much exposed because we participated in a number of tournaments before this,â said Palabrica, who used the Victor Plagata Cup in Bingawan, JGM Cup in Bacolod City and the Rebisco regionals also in Bacolod for their tune-up matches.
Bingawanâs secondary boy spikers also completed their four-peat after taking down Lambunao in the final round.
Kimboo Paren, Jowene Carnaje, Jm Naputol, Roosevelt Aguilar Jr., Junnyl Ferasol, and Joened Jaybe Misa were part of the team.
Meanwhile Bingawan shone in athletics as well â Reynold Tanate took home the secondary boys pole vault gold, while Justin Ferasol and Amhad Albalosi bagged gold in secondary taekwondo, and Tweetie Gener, in elementary.
All winning athletes from Bingawan will represent the 3rd District in the Iloilo Integrated Meet next year./PN
