ROXAS, Capiz – The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) here sought to intensify its tax collection campaign.
According to Eralen De Aro, chief of BIR’s Revenue District Office No. 72, the agency will inform those individuals who have problems fulfilling their responsibilities in taxpaying. With this, the public will be obliged to pay their taxes exactly.
Meanwhile, BIR also wanted to strengthen its efforts on tax collection through “Oplan Kandado, Run After Tax Evaders” and the yearly conduct of audit and investigation.
This intensified tax collection campaign has been set in “Pananaw 2020” launched on Mar. 2 by the BIR RDO No. 72. This enables the government to collect taxes which will be utilized for its programs and projects.
For this year, De Aro said they are targeting a P1.365-billion tax collection. In 2019, the agency collected a total of P1.194 billion.
January’s actual collection reached up to P142,069,000 which is higher compared to the P123,500,000 target for the month, the chief said.
De Aro appeals to the public to pay their taxes on the exact time because, according to her, responsible taxpayers could greatly contribute to the revenue generation. (with a report from PIA-Capiz/PN)
