ILOILO City – A law office worker accused a Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) employee of embarrassing her, a police report showed.
Emma Salvaloza of Eñano Law Office told the Molo police that the way Ella Mae Ferrer of BIR Revenue District Office 75 on M.H. del Pilar Street, Barangay East Timawa in the district caused her “great shame.”
Salvaloza went to BIR Revenue District Office 75 to follow up on their law office’s certificate of registration around 10 a.m. on May 17 when Ferrer, an administrative assistant, told her their record was at the BIR’s office in Zarraga, Iloilo.
Salvaloza told Ferrer that she already verified with the BIR-Zarraga and learned their record was not there either. She then politely asked Ferrer if their head attorney could talk to her over the cellphone.
Annoyed, Ferrer retorted, “Nga-a maano pa sia sa akon?” but talked to their head attorney anyway, Salvaloza said.
Ferrer handed back the cellphone to Salvaloza and turned her back but kept grumbling loudly in the presence of other employees and clients in the BIR office, the law office worker told the Molo police.
Ferrer cannot be reached for comment as of this writing./PN
