THE Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) achieved 100 percent resolution and 100 percent compliance rates in handling complaints from January to June this year.
This is based on the report from the Office of the President’s 8888 Citizens’ Complaint Center (8888 CCC).
“The BIR will address all corruption and red-tape complaints. I am committed to professionalizing the BIR and to establishing a culture of integrity amongst its ranks,” BIR commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr. said.
From January to June, the BIR received a total of 734 citizens’ concerns, which were acted upon/resolved and closed within the 72-hour compliance period.
Such accomplishments translate to “a compliance rate of 100 percent on the 72-hour compliance period and 100 percent resolution rate on all referred concerns within this period”.
“We look forward to our continued partnership in the fight against red tape and corruption, and the improvement in the effectiveness and efficiency of government service delivery,” said Director Bernadette Casinabe, head of 8888 Citizen’s Complaint Center. (PNA)/PN
