SAN JOSE, Antique ā The number of business name registrations in the province rose 24 percent, according to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
A total of 454 businesses registered their names in Antique last month, the DTI reported.
āThe number of registered business names is 24 percent higher than the figure of the same month last year which was recorded only at 367,ā DTI information officer Lynna Joy Cardinal said.
Under the law, anyone who is starting a business must first register his/her business name with the DTI.
The name must be renewed after five years, Cardinal stressed.
There were 266walk-in applicants during last monthās registration, Cardinal said. The other 188 registered their names through Negosyo Centers and Business One-Stop Shops that different local government units have set up.(With Vicente Villavert/PIA/PN)
