THE business sector supports holding establishments liable for vehicles parked inside their facilities, an official of one of the country’s biggest business groups said over the weekend.
According to Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) honorary chair and treasurer Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr., while the group has yet to come up with an official stand, he believes that businesses should take responsibility should vehicles be damaged in their establishments.
“Komo naniningil sila ng fee diyan, at ‘yan nama’y hindi naman dapat singilin kung minsan, dahil ‘yan naman ay part ng service ng negosyo nila, ay dapat siguro ay may responsibilidad sa mga pumupunta riyan,” he said in an interview.
Ortiz-Luis said that establishments should also implement stricter security measures to prevent the vehicles from being damaged.
He clarified that the PCCI has yet to come up with an official stand, but most of the businessmen he talked to share the same point of view.
Establishments should follow the parking procedures implemented in hotels where fees are waived for customers with validation, he added.
(GMA News)
