Biz sector urged to offer incentives to fully vaxxed customers

BACOLOD City – The Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF) is encouraging hotels, restaurants and other business establishments in this city to offer incentives to customers fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

This aims to attract more people to get vaccinated, according to Mayor Evelio Leonardia.

Some businesses are giving discounts and freebies.

The task force also urged businesses to convince their personnel to get vaccinated, as the city is giving “vaccination seals” once their workforce is 100 percent fully vaccinated.

“This will make clients feel safe when they dine in restaurants or stay in local hotels,” Leonardia said.

Roberto Magalona, president of the Hotels and Restaurants Association of Negros Occidental (HRANO), said their member-establishments support the move.

“We can devise a strategy to convince them,” Magalona said.

Leonardia reiterated that vaccination “is our way out of the pandemic.”

As of Oct. 13, a total of 211,515 Bacolodnons have been vaccinated, of which 152,861 already completed their doses./PN
