BACOLOD City – Several ammunition and a pistol were seized from a house in Barangay Tabugon, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
House owner Eric Ralo Española, a 30-year-old businessman, did not have a license to possess them, said Superintendent Jonel Guadalupe, Kabankalan police chief.
Officers searched the house of Española at around 6 a.m. last Saturday and found the following:
* a .9mm pistol with a magazine loaded with 12 live ammunition
* another magazine for the same firearm
* a camouflage sling bag
* an ammunition box containing 25 rounds of bullets for the same firearm
Española was arrested and detained at the Kabankalan City police station.
He faces charges for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Police were acting on a search warrant issued by Presiding Judge Rodney Magbanua of the Regional Trial Court Branch 61 (Kabankalan City) on Aug. 22.
ELECTRICIAN FALLS
In the same barangay on the same day, police arrested a man they called a “newly identified drug personality.”
Resident Rocel Jocson Sustiosa was a 42-year-old electrician, said Guadalupe.
Sustiosa tried to escape after the buy-bust at around 6:30 a.m. but officers cornered and subdued him.
Four plastic packs of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, P700 cash, and the P500 marked money were seized from him.
