ILOILO – A businesswoman was found rotting inside a sport utility vehicle late afternoon yesterday in Barangay Inangayan, Santa Barbara town.
Claire Diergos was a resident of Deca Homes Subdivision in nearby Pavia, Iloilo.
Residents complained of a foul odor coming from the silver Mitsubishi Montero Sport with plate number WRQ-846 parked along the road.
The cadaver was discovered in the back seat covered with a blanket, according to Police Major Raymund Celoso, Santa Barbara police chief.
“We could not yet determine the cause of her death. We will wait for the result of the autopsy,” said Celoso.
Members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered the victim’s black bag, under garments, black shorts, white t-shirt, and identification cards.
On Sunday afternoon, according to the residents, they saw a woman and a man arguing along the road and later got inside the car later.
They also saw two men outside the vehicle, but they did not mind them.
Celoso surmised the victim may have died on Sunday.
