Blue Dragons drub Bulldogs in PBA D-League

MANILA – Diliman College-Gerry’s Grill Blue Dragons add on to the misery of SMDC-National University Bulldogs with an 82-70 victory in the 2019 PBA Developmental League on Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Blue Dragons got a huge lift from Joseph Brutas in the second half as they erased a 12-point first half deficit and turn a slim 67-63 lead to a 76-64 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Brutas finished the match with 13 markers, five rebounds, and two assists for the Blue Dragons, which have collected its second victory in four matches this conference.

“I know Brutas for three years now. He’s a young player pero kilala koyung puso ng batang ‘yan,” said Blue Dragons head coach Rensy Bajar. “But the defense made this win for us.”

Beninese big man Kevin Gandjeto led Diliman-Gerry’s with 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Marco Balagtas supplied 14 points and John Mahari also contributed 13 markers and seven assists.

‘Di kami kilala sa tournament nato but we’re striving. We want to prove to ourselves that we can compete,” said Bajar.

John Lloyd Clemente had 22 points and six rebounds, John Galinato made 16 points, as Issa Gaye had 10 points and 15 rebounds for the Bulldogs, which have dropped to 0-4./PN
