ILOILO – Provincial Board members plan to visit a village in Concepcion town where allegedly substandard houses for super typhoon “Yolanda” survivors are being built.
The National Housing Authority is handling the P290-million housing project in Barangay Bacjawan Sur.
Board members will make the trip alongside the first out-of-town session this year that they will hold at the Concepcion covered court on June 8.
“Kon madayon ang schedule kag makalakat kami, then we will try to take it as an opportunity nga magkadto kami sa site sang housing project,” said 1st District Board member Renee Valencia.
Valencia, chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Justice, Good Government and Human Rights, is leading the public hearing on the complaints of some beneficiaries.
Valencia and the other Board members will inspect the site along with the Provincial Engineering Office and the Department of Public Works and Highways to verify the complaints.
All Board members are expected to attend the function, which Valencia said will show Concepcion residents how a Provincial Board session is conducted.
Other Board members include Marcelo Valentine S. Serag of the 1st District, Demetrio P. Sonza and Liecel Mondejar-Seville of the 2nd District, Lorenz R. Defensor and Emmanuel R. Gallar of the 3rd District, Domingo B. Oso Jr. and Bryant Paul Q. Biron of the 4th District, Jeneda C. Salcedo-Orendain and Nielo C.
