ILOILO City – Seven people were rescued on Good Friday after a boat capsized in the waters off Sitio Puntales, Barangay Nipa, Concepcion, Iloilo.
Motorboat MBCA Jennes Skipper Ed was carrying six passengers. They were Deeno Villaluna, 41; Lenloy Villaluna, 39; Jojo Villaluna, 37; Wyatt Villaluna, 30; Marvin Manalac, 29; and Joeden Bornales, 30 – all residents of M.H. Del Pilar Street, Jaro district here.
The skipper or boat captain Leo John Chavez, 19, also survived.
The capsizing happened at around 10:45 a.m.
MBCA Jennes Skipper Ed – bound for the town’s Barangay Dungon – was hit by big waves when it was around 500 meters away from the shoreline, a police report showed.
Town rescuers were fast to respond to the incident./PN
