THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) confiscated P1 billion worth of counterfeit cigarettes, as well as materials and machines used in their manufacture, during a warehouse raid in Nueva Ecija on Friday.
The BOC also arrested twenty Chinese nationals and a hundred Filipinos during the raid.
The suspects were allegedly engaged in the clandestine manufacture of counterfeit cigarettes.
Among the items confiscated in the raid were three boxes of forged Bureau of Internal Revenue stamps, five lines of cigarette making machines, six lines of packing machines, one filter making machine, a mixer, a dryer, and raw materials for the manufacture of counterfeit cigarettes. (GMA News)
