THE Bureau of Customs on Saturday suspended the seven-day period to lodge goods declaration for the duration of the enhanced community quarantine to stem the spread of COVID-19.
“In light of the declaration of the enhanced community quarantine by the President, the Bureau of Customs suspends the 7-day period to lodge goods declaration for the duration of the emergency,” the BOC said in a statement.
According to the BOC, the lodgement and filing of goods declaration may be made within 15 days from the date of discharge of the last package at any time during the quarantine period.
The period to file goods may be further extended for another 15 days on valid grounds and upon request which may be done personally or online by opening a ticket as duly acknowledged by the bureau.
BOC said the order will cover shipments with a date of discharge starting March 10.
“The BOC emphasizes that compliance in this regard will ensure delivery of public service with due observance to physical distancing policy and other preventive health measures,” according to the statement.(GMA News)
