ILOILO City – A suspected drug “bodegero” was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay West Timawa, Molo district, yielding shabu worth an estimated P3.4 million.
The suspect, identified by his alias “Bulldog,” a 38-year-old resident of Barangay Rizal Pala-Pala II, City Proper, was apprehended on Wednesday evening.
Law enforcers seized 500 grams of shabu during the operation, conducted at around 6:53 p.m., where undercover police officers purchased P16,000 worth of the illegal substance.
“We have been monitoring the suspect for several days before his arrest,” said Captain Ryan Christian Inot, chief of the Molo police station.
The suspect is currently detained at the Molo police station and faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director Brigadier General Jack Wanky commended the efforts of the Iloilo City Police Office and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit in their intensified campaign against illegal drugs.
“This successful operation is the result of a collaborative effort among the police, the community, and other law enforcement agencies. Through this strong partnership, we aim to identify and take lawful action against individuals involved in illegal activities,” Wanky said./PN
