BACOLOD City – The decomposing remains recovered in Barangay Cabug on Tuesday night have been identified.
Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director Police Colonel Noel Aliño said the victim was 43-year-old Radney “Potot” Emplamado of Sitio Beranio, Barangay Lantad, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
He was positively identified by his mother, Rosemarie, and live-in partner, Lilibeth. He was immediately buried at the Silay City Public Cemetery.
Emplamado was allegedly abducted by four unidentified men on April 18.
Aliño said they were verifying reports that the victim served three years of jail time for illegal drugs.
Emplamado was the third incident of recovered human remains in the city this week. Two others were found at a drainage system in neighboring Barangay Felisa on Sunday, April 30.
Following the string of recoveries of dead bodies and severed body parts, the BCPO is planning to create a special taskforce.
The BCPO is also not ruling out the possibility that a vigilante group may be operating in the metro./PN
